Well hello there playful people, I’m just a little bit
(read ridiculously) excited to announce the safe arrival of theplaycompany and it’s cute little website.
And you, well you are just simply
Why? because you are the first to be reading the very first little nugget of playspiration here on theplaycompany.com.au and that, as far as I am concerned is reason enough for you to be declared amazeballs.
Yep it has raised a few eyebrows, concerned looks and inquisitive little side glances.
One particular day I answered the door to find two package delivery guys standing there, not the stock standard one guy but two, which I found a little odd but figured maybe it was a occupational health and safety thing. One of said delivery guys asked
‘So, you're the play company are ya? What’s that all about then?’
This was spoken with big cheesy grins, (and possibly even a wink exchanged between them) to which I simply and excitedly replied (with a big cheesy grin of my own) ‘Yep, sure am, I run workshops, retreats and events that are all about remembering to be playful!'
I wasn’t really concentrating and missed the innuendo because I was too excited. My new macbook had arrived, the tool that was going to enable me to actually do this little ol thing called theplaycompay.
It wasn’t until later that I thought about the strange behaviour of said delivery guys and kinda went
when I realised they had perhaps thought it was something a little bit naughty!
Which is not such an absurd notion really, because we do tend to take life a bit too seriously from time to time and it can feel a bit sneaky or naughty if we actually go do something fun
But let me assure you…it ain’t the kinda naughty my delivery guys thought it was…I wonder what they thought they were delivering :)
I have procrastinated over what to write in this first ever post, editing myself out to almost nothing, or to sound like a robot and try to include EVERYTHING…oh the pressure!
What I decided in the end is that I, like you, am on a journey and if I make mistakes or look back on this post and raise my eyebrows (in a what was I thinking!?! kind of way) just like those pesky delivery guys, that it really doesn’t matter. It’s a journey and one I whole heartedly intend to embrace…even the crappy, difficult bits!
So I'm launching this baby anyway, imperfect, incomplete and possibly incomprehensible in parts. There is still so much to do to grow and to do it properly it's going to take time and a whole lot of love; and a whole lot of googling things I just don't understand - like technical stuff!
I’m not gonna tell you EVERYTHING here because I don’t know everything and not sure I ever will but what I do know is that I am so excited to share this journey of
bringing playful back with you.
So Thank You for taking the time to read, I just LOVE that you did
and just so you know, I’m still as excited at the bottom of this post as I was at the top and I still think you're amazeballs .
Have Fun - Get Happy Beautiful People
p.s keep a look out on the blog for Three Beautiful Things Thursday…I think you just might find it a little bit lovely :)
p.p.s If you are the delivery guys reading this, you were actually just delivering a macbook…apologies if I lead you to believe it was something different and more exciting :)
